Nokia has teamed-up with JBL to create a range of audio accessories and the first product of their cooperation is the JBL PlayUp Portable Wireless Speaker for Nokia. These brightly-colored speakers sport cylindrical design and are made of specially created double-shot plastic to add “extra durability to the design.”

Expect crystal clear sound in every direction with a maximum output of 89dB and frequency response rated at 85Hz – 22kHz (-6dB), which is great both for the garden and your living room.

As expected, these speakers connect to Lumia (or some other) smartphone via Bluetooth and pairing is conducted by simply tapping phone to the speaker (via NFC) or, if you want to use them with some other device, using a standard 3.5mm jack. There’s a cable supplied in the box for this, together with a carrying pouch and a MicroUSB charger.

Size wise, the PlayUp measures 118x118x128 mm and has a weight of 760g. The rechargeable battery inside will last for 10 hours in normal use, and, of course, you can run it off AC power using the charger indoors. The JBL PlayUp Portable Wireless Speaker for Nokia will come in cyan, yellow, white and black; and will start selling before the end of the year for 149 EUR.
