AT&T has announced the September 1st grand-opening of its flagship retail location in Chicago’s Magnificent Mile. In addition to the customary showroom where AT&T displays the latest devices it has for sale, AT&T has added several themed rooms aimed at showing customers what they can do with AT&T technology and connected services.
An “Apps room” features one-on-one or group demonstrations of interesting and helpful applications, the “Lifestyle Boutiques” section, including the “Get Fit” room which shows you how to track your weight, caloric intake, and exercise with the help of your smartphone or tablet, and even a “Street Smart” room that gives you a demo of the Nissan Leaf connected car, partnered with AT&T services of course. As the store will be located in the heart of the Windy City, there is a “Chicagoland” area which features products, accessories and applications to utilize while in Chicago.
All sales at the new outlet will be made via tablet, and employees will be biometrically where only employee fingerprints can unlock cabinets, cash drawers, and access IT systems. The store should present customers a fun experience and help them take advantage of all AT&T has to offer when it opens this coming Saturday, just don’t expect to be able to FaceTime unless you hook into their WiFi network.
