After few delays, Huawei has unveiled when its flagship smartphone, D quad, will finally start hitting store shelves. The date is set for September 12th when the quad-core CPU-equipped device will be available for 2699 Yuan, which translates into $425. That’s the price of the unlocked device in China, requiring no contract signing with the carriers.

Specs wise, the D quad (or D1 quad – we’re getting confused with the name) comes with a Huawei’s own K3V2 quad-core CPU clocked at 1.5 GHz, 4.5-inch 720p HD screen, 8-megapixel camera on the back, front-facing one for video calls, 3G/4G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and so on.

Unfortunately we still don’t know when this baby will hit the Western hemisphere. We do hope it will happen sooner rather than later, and as soon as we hear something new on this – we’ll get back to you. Stay tuned in the meantime…
