As part of the effort to enhance its service, American Airlines will equip flight attendants with Samsung’s Galaxy Note devices. A total of 17,000 Notes will be deployed, allowing the personnel to access customer information, record meal preferences, transact onboard the aircraft and provide customers with useful information like connecting gates, weather forecasts and so on.

Planned to be a first of its kind in the airline industry, the flight attendant tablet program, rolling out later this year, is just one way we’re empowering our people to help you fly better. From seat assignments and special services, to premium class food and beverage options, to loyalty program status and connecting gate information, we want to ease your travel process from boarding to deplaning.

The airline will begin deploying the device later this year with plans to complete the process by mid-2013.
