Verizon Wireless will soon launch a firmware update for the Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7. Software version i815.LP10 packs a number of new features, including:
- New homescreen layout with widget tab that enables adding widget to the Homescreen
- New Video Calling icon to the apps menu makes it easy to begin making video calls with apps like ooVoo and Tango.
- Settings have been organized into logical groups.
- Data usage monitoring
- Calculator will display a “Keep It Simple” basic calculator, while the Scientific Calculator will appear when switched to landscape mode.
- In Email search menu, Advanced option combines search criteria with date, sender & title.
- Quick Panel has been updated to include Power Saving, Driving Mode and Sync.
- In Email Composer, Undo and Redo options are added to easily correct mistakes.
- Support for email Read receipt and Delivery receipt.
- Quick Response, user-modifiable message that may be quickly inserted into the body while user is composing a message.
- New Meeting Invitation for Exchange accounts.
- Redesigned Gallery app with photo editor.
According to the official change log, this will be a rather big, 289MB-heavy download so you’re best off connecting to a fast hotspot to make the process run smoothly.
