Vertu has teamed-up with Italia Independent to unveil two new phones – touchscreen-based Constellation Blue and QWERTY keyboard-equipped Constellation Quest Blue.
As far as I can tell, both devices are powered by Symbian S60, though their true “strength” lies in the premium materials used to make them. In that sense, new Vertu Constellation phones sport blue carbon fiber composite for the back plate and the earpiece cushion, blue sapphire crystal for the keys, two-tone blue rubberized leather and polished blue Physical Vapor Deposition (PVD) stainless steel.
The Constellation Blue packs a 3.5-inch nHD (360×640 pixels) AMOLED screen with sapphire crystal cover, 8-megapixel camera, 32GB of built-in storage, 3G and Wi-Fi connectivity, GPS and FM Radio. The Constellation Quest Blue, on the other hand, has a 2.46-inch VGA display (again) protected by sapphire crystal, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and 4GB of built-in memory.
As usual, Vertu phones come with complementary Concierge service as part of the purchase, plus there are exclusive ringtones played by the London Symphony Orchestra.
Price was not unveiled but you know how they say – if you have to ask for the price, the chances are you can’t afford a Vertu phone.
