Softbank, which will soon become the second largest mobile operator in Japan after acquiring EMOBILE, unveiled a new Disney-themed Android smartphone. I know what you’re thinking – it’s an underpowered device made for kids. Perhaps you’re right about the second part, but bear in mind Japanese kids are savvier than their Western counterparts. That said, while this Disney phone comes in white and pink, it also packs rock-solid specs under the hood. For instance, it has a 4.5-inch 720p HD (1280×720 pixels) screen, 1.5GHz dual-core processor, LTE connectivity support and 13-megapixel camera. In addition, there are usual Android bells and whistles like Wi-Fi, an array of sensors, and 8GB of internal memory that can be further expanded with microSD cards. Now what you think about a Disney smartphone? Not bad at all, gotta admit. Unfortunately, it will never be available outside of the Land of the rising Sun though nothing stops you from importing your unit (and unlock it later on).
