Japan’s NTT DoCoMo will soon enhance its cloud services for Android smartphones and tablets by upgrading its popular voice-command personal agent service, Shabette-Concier, and introducing cloud-compatible versions of the phonebook and email services. Set to be launched at some point in November, the service expansion will bring the number of apps and voice-operable phone functions to over 100, which is a more than tenfold increase. In addition, over 30 popular characters will be added as avatars, each of which will speak and respond in its own distinctive voice, making for a more personal experience.

In case you don’t know, Shabette-Concier is described as an advanced voice interface that enables users to get useful information and operate different phone functions without tapping a single button. The upgrade to the service will allow for more accurate responses by taking into account user attributes such as age and gender, while also doubling the searchable information categories to over 30.

Shabette-Concier is available for free to subscribers to DoCoMo’s sp-mode Internet connection service, and will be preinstalled in DoCoMo’s 2012 Winter device collection.
