When it comes to web browsing, Samsung Galaxy S III will take you longer than other smartphones, iPhone 5 included

With modern smartphones getting bigger screens, the problem handset makers face is making batteries big enough to take users throughout the day. Luckily today’s screens, especially OLED-based ones, are less battery intensive than what they were in the past. Still, we do notice differences between multiple devices.

When it comes to web browsing, Samsung Galaxy S III rules them all, according to tests performed by Which?. That’s despite the fact that it has the largest screen of the bunch tested by the website.

Sammy’s superphone will get you almost 6 hours of surfing before running out of juice. In comparison, Sony Xperia S was alive for 5 hours, HTC One X for over 3.5 hours, while the Nokia Lumia 900 recorded just three hours of browsing, putting it in the bottom half of the phones tested.

When it comes to Apple’s handsets, the iPhone 4S outperformed the iPhone 5, managing to rack up 8 minutes more browsing time than the iPhone 5. The new iPhone managed just three hours and twenty minutes of browsing…
