Today HTC updated its FAQ for folks looking to see if their device will get Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. So there was good news and bad news. The Good news is that anyone that has 2012 handset powered with 1GB RAM will see the Android 4.1 update. The bad news is customers that have a phone carrying 512MB  or less is going to miss out on the upgrade. This means phones like the HTC One V, Desire C and Thunderbolt are being left out.

HTC had this to say on its FAQ page:

We work hard to ensure each of our products has the optimal user experience and therefore some products will remain at their current version of Android. In general, devices with 512MB RAM or less will not be upgraded to Android 4.1. As we identify other devices that will not be upgraded, we’ll provide updated information.

The Taiwanese based manufacturer is “prioritizing” the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update for the devices that were launched in 2012, then working its way back. This is likely going to take forever as the upgrade goes through both manufacturer and carrier testing, so if you have a HTC Rezound, it means you have a long wait ahead.
