HTC is expected to launch its first Qualcomm Snapdragon-powered smartphone during the second quarter of this year, according to Taiwanese market sources.
Although they will not be the first handset maker to introduce such a powerful device — we’ve already seen the shiny Toshiba TG01 announced — we’ve no doubts HTC knows what it’s doing. After all, we’re talking about the manufacturer of the first Android-based smartphone, T-Mobile G1 which is also known as the HTC Dream, as well as some other smartphones such as the Sony Ericsson Xperia X1.
Aside from HTC, other companies are set to join the party, too. On the list are Samsung, LG, Acer, Asus, Quanta Computer, Compal, Wistron, Inventec and Foxconn. This should translate into more options for consumers and that’s always a good thing! 🙂
