Most us associate Lava smartphones with Intel’s mobile processors, with their Xolo X900 being the first device to use the technology. But the company is also offering other smartphones and has recently launched an interesting product in India.
The newly announced Lava Xolo A800 doesn’t have an Intel-made CPU, but it offers a big screen and dual-SIM capability to the users who don’t want to get these two. The device packs an ARM-based 1GHz dual-core processor (MediaTek MT6577), 4.5-inch qHD (540×960 pixels) touchscreen, 8-megapixel rear camera, VGA front-facing one, 12GB of built-in storage, while Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich is running the show. All this could be yours for some 11,999 rupees (about $220), without committing to any long-term contracts whatsoever. That’s a pretty awesome deal and with that price we’re sure Lava would be able to move quite a few units even in the West… though we’re not sure the Xolo A800 will ever be available outside of India and probably few other markets in Asia.
