What we have here is a novel idea – an iPhone case that improves gaming experience while not adding too much bulk to the phone. The product, called Flipside, does its magic by integrating gaming controls into the back of the case making sure you always have your gaming controller with you — when you want to play a game, unsnap parts of the back and attach it to the front. Sounds weird, but it’s actually pretty easy to easy.

And there’s more. You see, Flipside also comes with a solar panel on the back which is used for recharging the built-in battery. Sounds pretty awesome to me though unfortunately it works with iPhones only (iPhone 4/4S and iPhone 5). However, if enough people express their interest, the Flipside team will launch cases for Android smartphones.

In order to secure your unit, you’ll have to pledge at least $60. The goal is raise $135,000, in case you wonder. Here’s a demo video explaining the FlipSide project.

And you can secure your FlipSide from this page at KickStarter.
