We’ve already told you Nokia is working on its own tablet. Now we have more information to add — apparently the Finns want to offer a battery-equipped keyboard cover with its product, making it that much better than Microsoft’s Surface. This special cover will envelop the tablet like a book, while also providing a kickstand when open.

According to The Verge, the forthcoming device will have HDMI and 2 USB ports, 10-hour battery and a 10.1-inch display. Cellular connectivity will also be available in select models, one of which may end-up in AT&T’s offering.

Initially, Nokia will build a small number of the tablets, most likely to test the market, but the plan is to also make a full-blown Windows 8 (rather than Windows RT) device.

Unsurprisingly, the Finnish company declined to comment on rumors and we’ll rather have to wait for Mobile World Congress to get all the details. Stay tuned…
