We’ve already wrote about ZTE’s plans to enter the smartphone market. During the Mobile World Congress which starts on Monday, the Chinese company will have 10 such devices on display at its booth (Hall 8, B127).

Among the devices we’ll be able to see is the Windows Mobile-powered VF 1231 model which has been developed especially for Vodafone. Then there are the “XIANG” series of 3.5G super slim HSDPA/HSUPA handsets, the e760 (a GSM-based handset for China Mobile) and the D820/D810 (a CDMA-based handset for China Telecom). Also, ZTE will be displaying the U981, a top-end smartphone that was deployed by China Mobile during the Beijing Olympic Games.

ZTE’s range of smartphones are based on two operating systems – Windows Mobile and Linux. At this stage, we’re not sure whether they’ll show us “something Android.” We certainly hope so. 😉
