We knew they were coming and today, Huawei introduced two new high-end handsets that’ll boost the company’s smartphone lineup. The pair includes the durable yet stylish Ascend D2 and the whopping 6.1-inch Ascend Mate.

First up is the Ascend D2, which takes the place of the original Ascend D. The D2 features a 1.5GHZ quad-core processor, a 5-inch, 1080P display and a 13-megapixel camera. More durable than most handsets in its class, the D2 is both water and dust resistant. It runs Huawei’s Emotion UI on top of Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean.

Next is the Ascend Mate, which take on the popular Samsung Galaxy Note. The Mate includes a whopping 6.1-inch display with 720P resolution, 1.5GHZ quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM, 8GB of internal flash storage and an 8-megapixel camera. It runs Huawei’s Emotion UI that overlays Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean.

The Ascend D2 will launch in February , and the Ascend Mate will launch globally in March.Pricing details are not yet available.
