Samsung Galaxy Discover ditches TouchWiz for stock Android, coming to Net10 and Straight Talk

Samsung is rolling out plenty of low range phones lately as we approach Mobile World Congress. Today the Korean manufacturer announced that its Galaxy Discover will be landing on prepaid carriers Net10 and Straight Talk. The handset brings along some typical low range features such as a 320×480 HVGA 3.5-inch display, 2.7GB built in storage with support for microSD cards up to 32GB. There’s also a 3-megapixel rear camera on board. No front facing camera, though.

In addition to these modest features, the Galaxy Discover will come with stock Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich out of the box. That’s right, no TouchWiz! This is somewhat surprising, considering how much Samsung loves its custom user interface. Unfortunately, there’s no word on ship dates or prices, but we’re sure details should be released soon from the contract free carriers.
