BlackBerry: We've surpassed 50 million BBM Voice calls

BlackBerry Messenger 7 with included BBM Voice was launched in December and today we’ve got the word from the Canadian company that they’ve surpassed 50 million BBM Voice calls. The figure includes only owners of BlackBerry 6 OS or higher devices with those running an older version of the platform (5.0) only now being able to join the game — with the new BBM 7.0.1.

If you’ve been living under a rock or are just plain ignorant about everything BlackBerry, you should know that BBM Voice adds VoIP phone calls to the mix, allowing BBM users to talk for free.

While it has certainly seen better days, BlackBerry still counts more than 79 million subscribers worldwide, 60 million of which are BBM users.
