Looks like FonePad won’t be the only Asus’ device that uses Intel’s chip for long. The rumor is that the Taiwanese company is working on a smartphone that will rock the chip maker’s latest processor, Atom Z2580 aka Clover Trail+, that is found in the Lenovo K900.

We don’t have all the specs, but we’re hearing that the upcoming phone will sports 5- to 5.5-inch screen, most likely full HD one. The information comes from DigiTimes, which quotes its sources from the upstream supply chain.

It is said that the new Asus phone will be released in June at the earliest. We’ve no idea whether it too will have a tablet shell like ASUS’ Padfone series or will be the company’s first “real” smartphone. As usual, we’ll try to get more information and get back to you as soon as something new emerges. Stay tuned in the meantime…
