Verizon has deployed 4G LTE service in five new markets today, lighting up El Centro, CA; Fort Dodge, IA; Middlesboro/Harlan and Paducah, KY; and East Liverpool, OH. Verizon is continuing to roll out its 4G LTE service in suburban and rural areas, covering over 95% of its 3G service areas with 4G LTE. Verizon plans on delivering 4G LTE service to every one of its 3G markets by the middle of this year, and is in good shape to do so.

Verizon now provides its 4G LTE coverage to 287 million customers, and boasts that 40 percent of their phones are now 4G capable and that 54 percent of its data traffic flows over its 4G LTE network. A few of the 4G LTE compatible smartphones that Verizon offers are the HTC DROID DNA, Motorola DROID RAZR HD, LG Lucid 2, and the HTC Windows Phone 8X.
