XperiaBlog is claiming that Sony will soon add a new device to its Xperia portfolio. Marked as Xperia ZR, this high-end device will boast a 4.6-inch 720p HD screen, 1.5GHz quad-core processor (Qualcomm’s Snapdragon S4 Pro or Snapdragon 600), 2GB of RAM, 13-megapixel Exmor RS camera on the back, 8GB of internal storage, microSD memory card slot and a 2300mAh battery. Plus, let’s not forget all connectivity options (HSPA, Wi-Fi & Bluetooth) and an array of sensors.

In addition, the phone will also pack a water-resistant body with an IP55/IP58 rating. This is higher than the IP55/IP57 rating of the Xperia Z and can be exposed to 1.5 metres of water for half an hour. As for the looks, it is said that the Xperia ZR will resemble the look of the Xperia ZL.

That’s it for now. We’ll get back to you as soon as have something new to add. Stay tuned in the meantime…
