We’ve already told you that Apple is looking to further distant itself from Samsung and move its chip production to another company. A new piece information suggests that will start happening next year with 2014 being the first year when iPhone chips will be made by TSMC.

Of course, this is still not officially confirmed and all we have are DigiTimes‘ industry sources to quote, claiming TMSC will indeed be taking over Samsung’s business.

Part of the speculation is also based on reports that TSMC has accelerated its chip foundry construction plans to cope with an increased demand for its chips…

In the meantime, the Korean giant will keep making chips for this year’s iPhone, which will be unveiled within few months.
