Samsung may not make the next Nexus phone but that doesn’t mean it’s done with making devices running the stock Android OS. One such smartphone will apparently be on display at Google I/O later today and it will be called the Galaxy S4 Google Edition. It’s the same Galaxy S4 under the hood without the Korean company’s proprietary software running on top of Android core. You may think that’s even better but let’s not forget some of the cool technologies that come on the “standard” Galaxy S4 like Smart Stay, Smart Pause and eye scrolling. Personally, I love Smart Stay as I often read news on my phone.

We do, however, applaud Samsung for taking this route, providing an option for die hard Android fans who can’t bear any bloatware running on their smartphones (or tablets). Plus, it’s fair to argue this Galaxy S4 version will be among the first devices to get the latest version of Android as soon as it’s out. That will most likely be Android 4.3, which should be unveiled later in the day. Stay tuned as we bring you more…
