MetroPCS may launch a successor to its Quattro 4G smartphone, which was unveiled in August last year.

Chinese Coolpad has been showing Quattro II 4G during the CTIA Wireless 2013 and we can’t say we’re that much impressed. Then again, it’s a mid-range device that doesn’t attract geeks like us.

Specs wise, the “next Quattro smartphone” rocks a 4.5-inch screen, 1.2GHz dual-core processor, 5-megapixel camera on the back and, of course, LTE connectivity support.

The exact launch date is still a mystery though we guess that and other details will be released soon.

As for Coolpad, its phones may not be that hot in the West, but in its own backyard, the company is holding the number four spot in terms of smartphone shipments. It also sells its gear in some other markets, including India and Taiwan, and has doubled its revenue from 2011 to 2012.
