Humble Bundle 8 -Pay What You Will for 7 Great Indie Games!

Since its inception, the Humble Indie Bundle has been a win win for everyone involved. Gamers get a bundle of great games at great price, developers make a tiny profit, and a nice chunk of change goes to charity. It was a model of the power of crowd funding well before Kickstarter was a household name. The first bundle came out in 2010 and several packages have been released since, now up to 8 (along with an Android bundle and some other spin offs).

It’s a pay what you will model (with a couple of the games unlocked at a slightly higher level) and you can even choose what percentage goes to the developers, the Childsplay charity organization, or the “Humble Tip” – which helps fund the hosting etc. for the bundle. At the time of writing this, the proceeds were already over $315,000 with 2 weeks remaining.

The 8th Humble Bundle includes 7 games: first-person adventure Dear Esther; the extraterrestrial action platformer Capsized; multiplayer action platformer Awesomenauts; minimalist puzzle-platformer Thomas Was Alone; and the sandbox puzzler Little Inferno. If you pay over the average, you’ll also receive the gory fast-paced top-down action game Hotline Miami and the exploration and discovery game Proteus.

Check out the bundle on the site!

From the Announcement:

Pay what you want. If you bought all of these separately, they’d cost you over $90, but we’re letting you name your price!

Cross-platform and DRM-free. All of these games run great on Windows, Mac, and Linux (system requirements here)! A purchase of $1 or more will also get you Steam keys! Please note: this is the debut for many of the Linux versions of the games! Please be patient while the developers fix any 1.0 bugs as quickly as they can, and don’t hesitate to contact us if you run into any issues.

Support vital charities. Choose how your purchase is divided: between the developers, the Child’s Play Charity, or the Electronic Frontier Foundation. And if you like this promotion, a tip to Humble Bundle would be greatly appreciated!
