Almost missed this… Just as we’ve told you, Huawei Ascend W1 is now available from Walmart for $229.99. That’s the off-contract price but it is presumed you’ll be using Huawei’s baby with Straight Talk’s network, which offers smartphone plans with unlimited data starting at $45 per month.
We’ve already told you a lot about the Ascend W1 — as you know, it’s an entry-level Windows Phone 8 device with specs that include a 4-inch WVGA screen, 5-megapixel camera on the back, 1.2GHz dual-core processor, 3G and Wi-Fi connectivity and a memory card slot. Yeah, it’s rather unimpressive when compared to the hot-new Nokia Lumia 925, but then again – it doesn’t cost a small fortune, quite the contrary.
