The best thing about Nexus and new “Google Edition / Nexus Experience” devices is that their owners will be among the first ones to get the latest version of Android. When both Google Edition smartphones, Samsung Galaxy S4 and HTC One, start selling, they’ll be rocking Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean out of the box with their next update to Android 4.3 coming in July. At least, that’s when the HTC One Google Edition will get this treatment, according to HTC ROM developer LlabTooFeR (he said it’s coming “few weeks after release”) and we’re pretty sure Sammy’s Google Edition device will closely follow, perhaps even getting this version of Android few days/week before (considering Samsung’s large market share).
As far as we know, Android 4.3 will still be called Jelly Bean, most likely boasting performance enhancements, improved Bluetooth stack and some other things. We’ll make sure you get the latest information on two of the hottest Android smartphones the second we get ’em. Stay tuned in the meantime, k?
