The camera app from the Google Play editions of the HTC One and Samsung Galaxy S 4 is now available for download, and can be installed on any Android phone without root. The stock Google camera brings a new visual interface, which makes accessing different shooting modes and the flash easier than ever. When the circular icon next to the shooting button is tapped, a curved bar with options floats on the bottom of the screen, allowing access to exposure settings, scene modes, camera flash and an icon to switch between the rear and front facing cameras. The camera lets users snap a Photo Sphere, Panorama, video or a regular snapshot. The device’s volume rocker functions as a shutter key as well.

While not much has changed in the Gallery, but users can now access the camera directly from the gallery by swiping right past the first picture in the gallery while in filmstrip mode.

The leaked APK is available now, and can be found here on the XDA developers portal. Give it a try, you won’t be disappointed!
