As Beats Audio is gearing towards launching its music streaming service Daisy, the company is apparently talking with AT&T to help it get instant audience.

According to CNET, Beats co-founder and CEO Jimmy Iovine is trying to made a deal with carrier that would offer its subscribers a free trial period as part of data plan.

Daisy will have hard time differentiating its offering from the rest of the pack. It is said that the service will rely both on advanced algorithms and recommendations from “music connoisseurs” to offer song recommendations. In that sense, the company’s chief creative officer Trent Reznor described it as “a platform in which the machine and the human would collide more intimately.”

Aside from AT&T, Beats has also managed to convince billionaire mogul Len Blavatnik and other investors to put in some $60 million in Daisy.

All in all, we tend to think Daisy may be onto something with both cash and perhaps US’ second-largest operator on its side. We’ll see whether these two are enough to stay relevant and compete with the likes of Spotify, Pandora and others.
