A leaked document from O2 Germany suggests the carrier will drop BlackBerry internally and replace the smartphones with Windows Phone handsets. According to the report by WMPoweruser, sales representatives will soon be sporting Nokia Lumia 520s as their main handset, while managers and above will receive Lumia 925s.
The leaked document claims this switch will save O2 more than 250,000 Euro ($330,000) in fees paid to BlackBerry. Compatibility with Microsoft Office and Outlook email were other factors that prompted O2 to make this decision. O2 is owned by telecommunications company Telefonica, which is expected to promote Windows Phone in the U.K., Germany, Spain, Mexico, Brazil and Chile.
