LG Vu 3 with a 5.2-inch 4:3 screen and Snapdragon 800 CPU to be unveiled in September?

LG is gearing towards launching the next phone in the Vu series. The upcoming Vu 3 may be unveiled at the upcoming IFA in Berlin, when we’ll also see Samsung’s Galaxy Note III.

The new rumor we’ve got suggests that the Vu 3 will keep the series’ 4:3 screen ratio with resolution of 1,280×960 pixels. In addition, we’re hearing it will rock Qualcomm’s super-fast Snapdragon 800 processor, as well as other high-end bells and whistles like 2GB of RAM, LTE connectivity support, 13-megapixel camera on the back, and so on and on.

Of course this doesn’t mean LG will finally be able to make it a successful product, quite the contrary. The Korean company has thus far struggled to move enough of Vu and Vu 2 units, and as I’m writing this – I’m not sure the new Vu will attract a critical mass of users. The fact that we’re talking about a hardly pocketable device with unique (thus strange) screen doesn’t play in LG’s favor. Then again, perhaps this time round LG manages to convince enough folks that’s the way to go. We’ll have to wait and see…
