The UK based supermarket giant, Tesco, is reportedly working on its very own tablet, which will be a “high-quality” device similar to Amazon’s Kindle Fire. The rumor suggests Tesco will have the tablet ready for the upcoming Christmas shopping season.

Aside from the obvious Tesco branding, users will also get apps for quick access to Tesco’s vast catalog of products, allowing them to shop for groceries, banking products and Blinkbox, Tesco’s internet film and music service, from the tablet.

It’s worth noting that Tesco is already active in the mobile market and even operates its own MVNO service. It’s kinda natural they’ll be pushing this tablet to its existing customer base (3G model) as well as to everyone else shopping in one of Tesco’s many stores. Sounds like a plan, don’t you think?
