Facebook launched a new beta version of its Android app that is available to the members of the “Facebook for Android Beta Testers” group. Aside from few bug fixes, this release also packs several handy enhancements like animated stickers for some of the categories (like Pusheen, Beast and Anooki) in the Messenger function. This has already been available in the iOS app and we’re glad to see it being ported to Android, as well.
Another new feature is for Facebook Home users, allowing them to control music playback right from the lock screen. Yup, this means that you won’t have to unlock the phone, start the music app and then go to the next song — with this capability, you can do that while your phone is still locked.
All in all, we like how Facebook keeps making its mobile offering better with the day. If you’re still not part of the “Facebook for Android Beta Testers” group, perhaps now’s the time to join and get new features before the rest of the world manages to try them out…
