Kobo doesn’t want to give up on the tablet market just yet. The company that has an ebook reader and ebook marketplace for all popular platforms launched a trio of new devices, two of which rock 7-inch and one with a 10.1-inch screen.

First comes the Kobo Arc 7. It has a 7-inch 1024×600 pixels display, quad-core processor clocked at 1.2GHz, VGA front-facing camera and 8GB of expandable storage. It will sell for $150.

Add $50 more and you get the Arc 7HD that packs a 1920×1200 pixels screen, 1.7GHz quad-core processor, 1.3-megapixel camera and 16GB of internal storage.

Finally, for those who need an extra screen estate, there’s the Kobo Arc 10HD that comes with the Nexus 10-like 2560×1600 pixels display, 1.8GHz quad-core chip and 16GB of memory. This one will cost you $300.

However, it’s software that makes these tablets different. Thanks to the included “Reading Mode,” you’ll be able to focus on your ebook rather than other stuff that’s popping on your tablet all the time. Once this mode is enabled, all notifications will be turned off and screen brightness will be adjusted to reading. Pretty cool though I’m not sure it will help Kobo move a critical number of units. What do you think?
