Xbox One Release Date Announced!

Hot on the heels of yesterday’s reports that the Xbox One had gone into “full production” Microsoft has finally announced the “worldwide” release date for its console. The Xbox One will be released on November 22nd in Australia, Austria, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Mexico, Spain, United Kingdom, United States, and New Zealand.

That means the Xbox One will release a bit later than Sony’s PS4 in North America, which is releasing on November 15th. But Microsoft’s new box will beat Sony to market by a week in other regions, where Sony’s console doesn’t release until November 29th.

Microsoft previously had announced that the Xbox One would be available on day one in Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Netherlands, Norway, Russia, Sweden, and Switzerland but the company announced that those countries would see the Xbox One’s release delayed until some time in 2014.

The Xbox One will cost$499, €499, and £429. The console comes with one controller, a Kinect sensor, a headset microphone, and a HDMI cable. European customers who have pre ordered the Xbox One Day One Edition will also get a free download code for FIFA 14.

23 launch titles have been announced for the Xbox One, including exclusive titles Dead Rising 3, Zoo Tycoon, Ryse: Son of Rome, and Killer Instinct.

The company also announced yesterday that the Xbox One’s CPU would be clocked up from 150MHz to 1.75GHz, providing a pinch more processing power in its bid against its main rival Sony. A Sony exec recently claimed that the PS4 will have better visuals.
