BBM for iOS reported to land in App Store on September 21

We’re still covered in the Apple, iOS haze. Last week was the big announcement, and today is the release of iOS 7 to the masses. Now it seems we may finally see the long-awaited launch of BlackBerry’s BBM app on iOS, as the latest rumors puts its debut at September 21. Apparently, the application will see the light of day at an event on Sept 20 in Jakarta, Indonesia.

The CrackBerry crew claims they have reliable of information about the Waterloo company’s plans thanks to an official invite they’ve seen, along with “quite a few emails” that suggest the date is correct.

After the Indonesian event, BBM should appear in the App Store around the world at 12:01am local time on Saturday September 21. This app has been talked about for some time now, so we sincerely hope this holds true for those who still care about this messaging service.

Regardless to whether the app launches on the 21st or not, it still will end up behind the Summertime deadline CEO Thorsten Heins had proclaimed. But what do we expect, right? This is a company who’s been flagrantly late to hardware, software, etc., for years now. Thus, it’s the sole reason it’s trying to put itself up for sale to the highest bidder.

With all the messaging services now out on the market, it’s hard to tell if BBM is something most folks even care about anymore. However having another messaging option is never a bad thing for consumers.

Are you guys still excited about BBM for iOS?
