Nokia may launch another Asha phone soon, before the deal with Microsoft is finalized. According to EVleaks’ photo, the upcoming Asha 500 looks a lot like the existing Asha 501, with the addition of a second SIM card slot. Moreover, the Asha 500 doesn’t have a physical home/back button but a capacitive one.

Announced in May, the Asha 500 comes with a 3-inch touchscreen, 3.2-megapixel camera, Wi-Fi connectivity and a microSD memory card slot. Perhaps more important is that it runs Nokia’s new platform for feature phones which now faces an uncertain future in the hands of Microsoft. So if Nokia wants to launch this phone, it better do it sooner rather than later.

Price wise, the Asha 500 shouldn’t cost more than $100, which is Nokia’s recommended price for the Asha 501 (before taxes and subsidies)…
