Mobile gaming is taking off in a big way. The iPhone is leading the current wave, with game developers lining up to offer their wares on the iPhone’s large multi-touch display. The mobile space is ripe for a new mobile gaming revolution, and it looks like “Halo” will be making the jump to the smartphone. Fans of the iconic “Halo” gaming franchise will no doubt be excited to hear that their favorite first-person shooter is making a play (quite literally) for the Windows Mobile market!
A new job posting by Microsoft hints at a new Windows Mobile application that will “blend console, web, and mobile to create an immersive Halo world that follows the dedicated Halo fan wherever they go.” It’s a vague job description to be sure, and the verbiage doesn’t explicitly mention a mobile version of the Halo game. For what we know, Microsoft could be working on a new Halo application that complements a gamer’s gaming persona, as opposed to a full-on mobile game.
Still, it would be a much welcomed surprise to see “Halo” available in the Windows Mobile Marketplace sometime soon.
