Huawei is apparently working on an enhanced version of its Ascend P6 smartphone. The main new thing the upcoming P6S will pack is improved K3V2+ quad-core chip. However, don’t expect the major revamp of the CPU design; it will keep using Cortex-A9 cores while boasting a faster GPU. Moreover, the updated chip will be made with the 28nm manufacturing process.

Anyway, the Ascend P6S has been caught at Antutu benchmarks where it managed to hit 22,270 points. Yeah, that’s still not on par with Qualcomm’s top chips, but then again – this phone doesn’t compete in the same league. We’re talking about a solid mid-ranger with attractive design and affordable price.

It is said that Huawei’s revamped P6 will start selling by the end of this year. We tend to think the Chinese company will add few new color options to celebrate the launch, though you never know. We’ll be following this story and get back to you as soon as we have something new to add. Stay tuned in the meantime…
