BlackBerry released its BBM app yesterday, which left many of us scratching our heads. The blogosphere and Twitter were seething, bashing BlackBerry saying that the release of BBM was a little too late to the messaging game, saying that no one will really care about BBM with so many other messaging apps out there.

Apparently, we were wrong.

Just 24 hours after BBM went live for Android and iOS, the app has garnered 10 million downloads from the App Store and Play Store combined. The app has received rave reviews, with over 60,000 five-star reviews on Google Play. Yowza!

And BBM is slated to only get more popular, with BlackBerry committed to bring more features to Android and iOS devices. This means BBM Video, BBM Voice and BBM Channels will be coming to the iOS and Android apps soon.

So there you go BBM haters, the proof is in the pudding. Have you been using BBM? How do you like it? Let us know in the comments.
