Seriously, Verizon? If the news that the nexus 5 wasn’t coming to Big Red’s network, the delay of the Nexus 7’s release on the network continues to trudge on. Why, you may ask? Well, Verizon is blaming Google for the holdup, saying that the 2013 Nexus 7 hasn’t passed LTE certification tests.
Android Police received a statement from Verizon, which details the problem. Apparently the Nexus 7 encountered a “systems issue” which forced the device to fail Verizon’s LTE testing. Google and Asus have frozen the certification process until KitKat is ready to be released on the Nexus 7.
The KitKat update for the 2013 Nexus 7 is expected to arrive in a few weeks, which means many weeks before Verizon certifies the update and begins to roll it out to devices across the country. Sorry guys.
