As we heard a few days back, the HTC One Max has appeared on Sprint today, and you can get it for almost nothing. Sprint is offering the phablet for $249 with a new two-year contract, or $25 a month if you wanna go for Sprint’s One Up program. If you port your existing number to Sprint, you can nab the HTC One Max for just $149.
The HTC One Max lives up to its name by sporting a 5.9 inch 1080p HD Super LCD 3 display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 quad-core chip, 2GB of RAM, Ultrapixel camera on the back, and 16 or 32 GB of internal storage.
If that’s not enough for you, the HTC One Max will work with Sprint’s new Spark technology, which could provide a great data connection if it works out well. Spark will utilize three bands of Sprint’s LTE network, bouncing between the 800MHz, 1.9GHz and 2.5GHz bands, and will provide data continuity as the devices move between the bands. Spark service is currently being tested in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Tampa and Miami, and will be rolled out to over 100 markets over the next three years. Demos of Spark data speeds have been clocked around 1Gbps, but we can expect to see speeds around 50 to 60Mbps.
The tri-band enabled Samsung Galaxy S4 mini and the Galaxy Mega will be available on Sprint on November 8th, with the LG G2 and HTC One max becoming tri-band enabled via a software patch which should arrive in 2014.
While Sprint doesn’t have the best 4G LTE coverage compared with other carriers, if you want the HTC One Max now you’ll just have to settle for it. If you live in an area where Spark is being tested, you may want to go grab the HTC One Max now.
