Virgin Mobile added HTC Desire 601 to its portfolio. The mid-end device will be known as just HTC Desire (without the “601” part) selling for $279.99 sans any strings attached. Of course, you will need some minutes, texts and data with it. To that end, Virgin suggests its Beyond Talk plans which start at $35, boasting unlimited data and messaging.
As for Desire 601′ specs, these include a Gorilla Glass 2-protected 4.5-inch qHD screen, LTE connectivity support, 5-megapixel camera on the back, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 400 dual-core chip clocked at 1.4GHz, BoomSound front-facing speakers, NFC, 1GB of RAM and 8GB of expandable storage. Yup, you get a decent device for 280 bucks… or so we think.
