Today BBM Channels is finally shedding the beta tag, and bringing its version of feed-based social networking to all BlackBerry users. In a few hours, BlackBerry 10 and classic BlackBerry OS devices will be able to use the new service for themselves; a service that allows users to subscribe to content feeds from both major providers and their friends.
Unfortunately, everyone on using BBM on Android or iOS will have to wait for their chance to test-drive the Channels feature, as the company stated that updates are expected to roll out in the “coming months.” The plan for Channels is to monetize it with ads to help bring some much-needed revenue to a company hemorrhaging money.
