Google has been very busy lately, quietly releasing two Google Play Edition tablets the LG G Pad 8.3 and Sony Xperia Z Ultra and releasing a white colored Nexus 7 into the wild. If that wasn’t enough, Google has released the binaries and factory images of the newest version of Android KitKat, 4.4.2 just a day after rolling out the 4.4.2 update to Nexus devices and just around a week after the release of Android 4.4.1.

Google has released Android 4.4.2 factory images and binaries for the following devices:

  • Nexus 5
  • Nexus 7 (2013) mobile and WiFi versions
  • Nexus 10
  • Nexus 4
  • Nexus 7 (2012) mobile and WiFi versions

If you own one of the above mentioned devices, you can manually install the files to reap the benefits of the newest version of Android. There’s still no word when the update will be rolling out to devices OTA, but it should be within the next couple of weeks.

Grab the Android 4.4.2 binaries here, and factory images here.
