The HTC Butterfly S is receiving a software update which began its rollout today. The update brings Android 4.3 to the table, as well as HTC’s Sense 5.5 UI. The update is a beefy one, weighing in at 750MB.

According to MaximusHD ROM developer @LlabTooFer, the update carries version number 2.21.708.1, indicating that the update is aimed at Butterfly S owners residing in Hong Kong. There’s no word on when the update will make its way across the rest of Asia and the globe, but it should be happening soon.

The Butterfly S  is a successor to the original Butterfly, sporting the same-sized 5-inch full HD screen along with other high-end hardware like UltraPixel camera on the back, 2.1-megapixel front-facing camera, 2GB of RAM, solid 3,200mAh battery and 16GB of built-in storage. Unlike the company’s flagship device, HTC One, the Butterfly S sports a microSD card slot and a faster Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor clocked at 1.9GHz.

Look for the update to be landing on your device soon, and make sure that you have plenty of space freed yup for the almost 1GB update, and make sure you’re connected to WiFi and have plenty of juice before attempting the download.

Have you received your Android 4.3 update yet? Let us know what you think of it in the comments below.
