Micromax may not be a household name in the West, but in India they are one of the biggest smartphone vendors with a growing line-up of cool devices. And it wants to serve its customers properly, serving them with KitKat updates before many major vendors get a chance to do the same.

According to the company’s internal document, 10 of its handsets will get Android 4.4, including the A250, A240, A210, A200, A116, A116, A116i, A111, A110Q and A110. The leak, however, doesn’t tell us anything about the timing, leaving us to hope that users will get new Android goodies sooner rather than later.

Micromax is best known for its Canvas series of phones. The forthcoming Canvas Turbo is promoted with the help of Hugh Jackman aka the Wolverine, who was named the company’s brand ambassador back in October.

All said, we tend to think that the Indian firm has set the stage for global expansion and is readying to face both major brands and such Chinese firms as Xiaomi and Meizu. Sounds like a plan?
