The market of smart wearable devices is getting hotter with the day. Not only are we seeing more and more companies launching smart watches, but we also have a few new entrants in the smart glasses space.

The latest company looking at this trend is Rockchip, which we usually associate with affordable chip solutions. That, however, is no longer the case as they’re looking to expand to other areas, growing its margins along the way.

Rockchip will announce its smart glasses from the floor of CES in Las Vegas, GizChina is reporting. The firm will use its own 1.6GHz dual-core RK3168 processor, small 720p screen, 5-megapixel camera that can take full HD video, GPS receiver, and Bluetooth + Wi-Fi radios.

At the moment, it’s unclear whether Rockchip’s baby will ship with Google Play Store included or it will have its own app store. Moreover, we’re not sure whether these glasses will ever make it to the Western hemisphere or will be offered in China and few surrounding countries. We should have all answers in the next few days, though.
