After Samsung, Acer and HP – it’s time for Toshiba to join Google’s Chromebook craze. The Japanese company is out with an everything-but-significant laptop simply called (drums please) Toshiba Chromebook.

It’s insignificant because it doesn’t go beyond other Chromebooks we’ve seen before. It’s not even that much lighter than competing models and its specs are on par with several Acer laptops (also running Chrome OS).

Toshiba’s baby packs a 13.3-inch 1366 x 768 pixel screen, Haswell-based Intel Celeron chip, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal flash storage, and as part of a deal – you get 100GB of cloud-based GDrive storage. There are also a pair of USB 3.0 ports, full-sized HDMI port, SD card reader, as well as Bluetooth 4.0 & Wi-Fi connectivity support. All this is packed into a fairly light packaging, weighing just 3.3 pounds (or 1.5 kg).

The Toshiba Chromebook will be available on February 16th when you will be able to grab it for $279.99…
