Panasonic returning to smartphone market next month?

Panasonic is about to return to the smartphone market and we may see their next device unveiled at the forthcoming Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.

It is still unknown what this phone will be all about, but we’re hearing it will be a rugged device with a 5-inch screen, making it perfect for use in the construction industry. Heck, the report goes on to suggest that’s exactly what the Japanese company is aiming for and is apparently working with several construction companies in the U.S. as we speak.

Panasonic’s earlier efforts included few Eluga handsets, which unfortunately weren’t available all around the world. If it wants to succeed this time round, the company should either find a mutual ground with carriers or pursue the mentioned construction niche. Somehow we think that Panasonic products should be available to every user out there and are hoping they’ll have a mainstream phone unveiled alongside that special, rugged devices. We’ll see…
